The French state was ordered by the Versailles administrative court to pay €92,000 to the parents of a middle school student who committed suicide in November 2018 due to bullying. The court cited a "failure of organization of the public education service" because adequate disciplinary measures were not taken against the bullies. The court found a direct link between the bullying the student experienced from September 2017 to April 2018 and his suicide.
